La Mer

La Mer moisturizer is pretty expensive for most people and so I'm expecting that many of you are going to be looking forward to this review.

Go to any department store, and when you ask for a top-of-the-line moisturizer, they'll try to sell you on La Mer. There is just so much hype about this product. Jennifer Lopez uses it by the boatload and if it's good enough for her, well...
The great thing about the original Creme de la Mer is that it's good for every skin type. Even a combination-skinned gal like me can use it, and I know that people with very dry skin love it as well. It makes a great base for makeup and does moisturize all day. It's a great barrier for you skin and helps protect it against the elements.

I think that a jar of Creme de la Mer would make a great Mother's Day gift if you can afford it. It might be something your mother wants to try anyway, and it's a luxurious product both in feel and in touch.

I will also say that I couldn't get this to emulsify between my fingers, and like to apply it by dipping my makeup brush into the jar and then rubbing it on to my face. I know, I know, the people at La Mer would disapprove, but it works for me!

La Mer Foaming Cleanser

I read in a magazine somewhere that it’s most important to wash your face after undergoing an especially grueling workout. The heat and sweat that result from exercise can be a breeding ground for bacteria that may already be there.

I find that a foaming cleanser is best when it comes to really getting your skin clean and I use La Mer Foaming Cleanser.

Just a pea-sized amount lathers up quickly and the cleanser contains ground up rice to help buff your skin. I don’t think that it can really take the place of a regular exfoliater, but it’s a nice touch.

Facial Cleansers for Dry Skin

Everyone has dry skin on their face at this time of year - even us combination skin gals need something a little extra for our faces and that's why I'm going to recommend that you try an oil cleanser. It sounds strange, I know, but the newest cleansers rinse clean and leave no residue!

Try La Mer The Cleansing Fluid.

It is great. You massage it into your dry skin and it dissolves any makeup or impurities that were there. As soon as you add water, the texture of the oil changes and it dissolves into something else and rinses away. It's great. Your skin is soft and clean without any additional tightness at all. You must try this.

La Mer SPF 18 Fluid Tint

Could it be that after reviewing a slew of amazing products, it was inevitable that I would be disappointed to the tinted moisturizer that I was most looking forward to reviewing?

It's not that this is a bad product - not at all. This tint was the sheerest of the tinted moisturizers I tried and had a hint of colour but hardly any coverage. It really is a tint. The moisturization was nice but not heavy which may be a good thing if you're looking for something basic. I was surprised that this had an SPF of 18 because it felt like nothing going on, though I did have to wait for it to soak into my skin. Once on, however, this tinted moisturizer looked pretty natural, though I had to make sure that I had blended it into my skin very well.

The three colours offered are decent with there being a large difference between the "medium" and the "dark." which means that someone is going to get left out when looking for a colour match. Still, if you believe in the quality of La Mer products, then you'll probably love this foundation too.

Final Verdict: Very light with a hint of tint and almost no coverage. This is for those of you who insist on wearing a tinted moisturizer when you really don't need it. It would also be a great product for evening out your skin if you have patches that are slightly lighter or darker since this will add colour without obvious coverage.
