L'Oreal Infallible Lipgloss

Lipgloss that lasts 6 hours? I didn't know what to think either, but now that I've tried L'Oreal Infallible Lipgloss it's what I use every morning. Like most lipglosses the colours go on slightly sheer and the look is shiny but the gloss really is long-wearing.

You use the heart-shaped applicator and slick on a coat of the gloss (just one, one coat is enough), and then wait for it to set. I must admit that the gloss does take a good 5 minutes to set properly, and though it might seem like a long time, when I'm getting ready in the morning, I don't find it difficult to wait that long. Once set, the gloss is slightly sticky but lasted me through a coffee (though some does come off on the cup) and a salad.

At the end of the morning, the gloss didn't look perfectly applied of course, but it was still there and I was pleased with that.

Like I said, I like this so much that I use the colour Sangria most mornings and reapply maybe once more during the day. If you want to try this, enter the contest, 2 L'Oreal Infallible glosses will be included in the prize!

L'Oreal Sublime Glow for Face

If you're looking at self-tan lotions and wondering whether you should buy a separate one for your face, just take a look at the ingredient listing on one for your body versus one for your face. The body one will have a more intensive moisturizer such as petroleum or mineral oil in it whereas the one for face will not. What this means is that using a self-tanner that's specifically for your body may make your skin too oily and even give you breakouts if you're sensitive.

I really like L'Oreal Sublime Glow Daily Moisturizer in the tube above, which is specifically meant for your face. It's light but moisturizing and it does give you a nice amount of colour. If you really want to maintain your tan, you can use it daily since the colour on your face washes off more quickly than that on the rest of your body. It's a nice formula that's perfect for everyday, and it doesn't smell particularly strong either!

Natural Volume

I don't understand it when people complain that L'Oreal, or any other company, comes out with too many mascaras. It's fun to try out new mascaras in the hopes of finding one that works even better than the last one.
L'Oreal Voluminous Naturale is interesting - it's one that builds on L'Oreal Voluminous' already stellar reputation but adds a new brush. You know the kind: spiky, rubber, bristles that separate lashes and don't add clumps.

The brush for the L'Oreal Voluminous is pretty much the same as the one for Maybelline Define-A-Lash Mascara - it's a bendy brush that many don't like but one that I think is workable. The greatness of course lies in the formula, because this mascara layers like a breeze and the formula is a new one that lets you take the mascara off with just water.

I used to be a Voluminous fan - a huge one, actually, it used to be the only mascara I used for years! I know that I'm not alone either - there are tons of people who only love the Voluminous line, but things have changed. There's new technology from other brands and sometimes you want more than a big brush to layer product on. You want something that's easier to use and I think if you've been bored of Voluminous for those reasons, then you'll definitely need to check out this mascara.

Drugstore vs. Department Store Nail Polish

I flipped open a magazine last night and read that the difference between expensive and cheap nail polish is the staying power. If you really want a polish for everyday, you should get the expensive kind and just use drugstore polish to experiment with colour.

To this I say: not true at all.

There is virtually no difference between drugstore polish and salon polish. Each brand has their own formula, and you'll find that even between salon polishes, there are ones that go on smoother and last longer and ones that clump up and are difficult to apply. This applies to polishes across the board - drugstore and salon!
Right now, I'm using L'Oreal Nail Polish in the colour you see: Stroke of Midnight (580)(I know, I just can't let go of the dark colours.)

The quality is really good. It goes on smoothly, gives good colour in two coats, last a long time, and dries really shiny.

Spring 2008 Trends

Backstage at L'Oreal Fashion Week is always chaotic, but this time it was even more so. Eddie Maleterre, key makeup artist and spokesperson for L'Oreal Paris, hardly had any time to chat, but he spoke to us about what the trends are for Spring 2008. Want to know what colours you should be getting? Hear what Eddie has to say:

I have to agree with Eddie when it comes to the yellow eyeshadow. Yellow is literally the hottest colour right now. Who should wear it? If you're the person who jumped on board when it came to black nail polish, and dark red lipstick, then this is for you. You're always setting the trends, and find out the newest look before any of your friends, and yes, now you're wearing yellow eyeshadow too.

Stay tuned - I'll be telling you my favourite yellows soon.

Mellinda-May Harlington at L'Oreal Fashion Week

Another new designer showing this season was Mellinda-May Harlington who originally hails from Vancouver. Here's what Mellinda had to say about the inspiration for her collection:

You'd think that doing an Edie Sedgwick/Twiggy kind of eye would be easy but this was more deliberate. Take a look at the short video showing the steps that went into the look:

The entire look probably took at least 15 minutes to finish and the end result is absolutely beautiful. The makeup artists used liquid and cream eyeliner, and finished with a white pencil that really made the black stand out.

Overall, the Mellinda-May's collection was super-wearable and definitely for the everyday girl.

Here's the face chart for her look:
And the finished look on one of the models:

Carlie Wong at L'Oreal Fashion Week!

Fashion week sounds glamorous and fun, but it's also a lot of running around and making sure you're on your game. This year, I scored a few designer interviews which were so fun. Here's a bit of my chat with Carlie Wong. For those who may have missed it, she was on Project Runway Canada, and though she didn't win, many of the Toronto fashion community were interested in what she would show.

The end collection was a gamut of evening wear.

But don't take my word for it: hear what Carlie had to say about her own collection and her style!

Carlie wanted a strong look and a strong look is exactly what she got, check out her models.

Personally, I think a dark mouth and a dark eye was a bit of an overkill, but I can certainly see that the two of them together create something that's strong. It's very vamp which matched the dark evening dresses that Carlie designed.

I know that many people were wondering what lipcolour was used on the models -

it's a blend of two L'Oreal HIP High Intensity Pigment Lipcolours: 768 Brave and 868 Extrovert.

I loved the dark lip, and think that it could work for fall, but I'd definitely skip the smoky eyes.

I love that Carlie has her own beauty signature, something that she's known for, and she's not afraid to wear long falsies whenever she wants to make an impact. Will we be seeing more of Carlie Wong's ideas at fashion weeks to come? Time will tell...

L'Oreal Spring Collection

Can I just start by saying that I'm thrilled that Doutzen Kroes models for L'Oreal Paris. She is one of my favourite models and I can't see enough campaigns featuring her.

Okay, on to L'Oreal's newest colour collection. You might not be thinking about the Spring yet, but this new collection will help you get there. The eyes are muted in shades of grey while the emphasis is on the lips and nails. Bright fresh pinks are what you need and L'Oreal here delivers.
I love L'Oreal's ColourJuice Glosses, and I like them even more in these tubes because it makes the gloss easier to apply.

Guess what else? L'Oreal glosses are among the few that I use down to the last squeeze, I actually love them that much. I just find that they have the right amount of pigment and last a long time on the lips. Plus, they smell yummy.

The eyeshadow trios and nail polishes are stellar of course. They last long with or without a primer. Below are my own pictures of the shadows. I found the pink to be pretty pale on me, but it's a shade that looks natural rather than teeny-bopperish.

I hope everyone is having a lovely Easter weekend!

Backstage at L'Oreal Fashion Week

As per usual, I am covering L'Oreal Fashion Week in Toronto right now! I was just backstage taking a look at the makeup being done. Does your makeup table look like this?

This is the table for lead makeup artist Eddie Maleterre.

On another note, I've been taking down interesting quotations that I hear. I'll share the best ones with you at the end of the week but I can't help but post this one down. I'm watching Eddie work and I hear a journalist (obviously new) say: "OH wow, and all the makeup is L'Oreal!"

It was cute. It has to be L'Oreal since they are sponsoring the event, though once in a while you see the artists pull out something a little different.

Many more pictures and interesting stories coming soon!

L'Oreal Wrinkle De-Crease Collagen Skin Remodeller

Of course, I've got to talk about skin moisturizers when I talk about dry skin. L'Oreal Wrinkle De-Crease Collagen Skin Remodeller is new and was brought on the market when L'Oreal saw the success of their other Wrinkle De-Crease products. This is a great moisturizer but it's not at all greasy and absorbs into the skin in a matter of minutes. I have to say that although this is for the older set, it's not for very dry skin because it's so lightweight. If you've got oily or combination skin, you'll want to try this. You too can have a creamy moisturizer but not one that's greasy.

L'Oreal Bare Naturale Setting Powder

bare naturaleOK! Continuing our talk of mineral makeup - L'Oreal Bare Naturale Soft-Focus Mineral Finish. Here's the thing - if you already wear mineral makeup or any kind of powder makeup for that matter, you don't really need a setting powder. So - why would you want this powder?

I am thinking that this is an option for setting liquid foundation, or for powdering throughout the day. This powder really is translucent and goes on very light. I like it and use it midday and find that it absorbs oil better than most department store setting powders. Try it.

L'Oreal Bare Naturale Concealer

In the spirit of continuing mineral makeup coverage, I tried L'Oreal Bare Naturale Gentle Mineral Concealer, a product that's available at drugstores everywhere now.

For once, I really liked the brush that this product comes with. It picks up just the right amount of product and if you're wearing mineral makeup, it blends right in. I found that with this, a little bit of product went a long way and if I wasn't careful my finish was slightly thick-looking.

If you wear minimal foundation and usually just dust your face with powder, then this would be a great addition to your makeup bag.

L'Oreal May Buy YSL Beaute (But the Deal's not Done Yet)

From WWD.com

A Growing Empire: L'Oréal Agrees to Buy YSL Beauté for $1.68B
Published: Thursday, January 24, 2008
PARIS — YSL Beauté has a new owner in view, and it's none other than L'Oréal.

The French beauty giant on Wednesday proposed to pay PPR 1.15 billion euros, or $1.68 billion at current exchange, for YSL Beauté Holding, including its Roger & Gallet subsidiary. YSL Beauté is part of the PPR subsidiary Gucci Group.

Once the agreement is completed, which is expected in coming weeks, L'Oréal would obtain an exclusive and very long-term worldwide license for the use of the YSL and Boucheron brands in the fragrance and cosmetics categories, under market conditions. Also under terms of the agreement, L'Oréal would take over YSL Beauté's licenses for the Stella McCartney, Oscar de la Renta and Ermenegildo Zegna brands in the fragrance and cosmetics categories.

PPR would continue to own the Yves Saint Laurent, Boucheron and Stella McCartney brands. Meanwhile, the beauty license of Gucci Group brand Alexander McQueen would not be part of the transaction.
"This agreement would be key for Yves Saint Laurent. The strength and expertise of L'Oréal would put the further development of the brand on a faster track."
Robert Polet, Gucci Group
YSL Beauté's brands would join L'Oréal's luxury division, which already includes Lancôme, Biotherm, Helena Rubinstein, Shu Uemura, Kiehl's and Parfums Giorgio Armani, among other names.

"This proposed agreement represents a great opportunity for L'Oréal and its luxury products division," said Jean-Paul Agon, L'Oréal's chief executive officer. "Yves Saint Laurent is a mythical French luxury brand. It is admired the world over and is particularly complementary with our current brands. We are convinced that its integration into our luxury products division would speed up its development. This strategic agreement will reinforce our position in the luxury cosmetics market."

The latest deal continues Agon's aggressive acquisition strategy since he succeeded Lindsay Owen-Jones as L'Oréal's ceo in April 2006. Just one month prior to the changeover, while Agon was ceo-designate, the company snapped up The Body Shop. And since then, L'Oréal's buys have included Sanoflore, Beauty Alliance, PureOlogy, Maly's West, Canan and Columbia Beauty Supply.

During a financial analysts' meeting in September, Agon explained his strategy, saying, "You should only make an acquisition when it makes true strategic sense. Mr. [Christian] Mulliez [the company's executive vice president of administration and finance] and his team have never had as much work to do in terms of acquisitions because our philosophy now is to look at absolutely everything, to scrutinize all of the opportunities out there. That doesn't mean we're going to make more acquisitions, but we're not going to miss any acquisitions that are right up our street.

"We buy something because we feel that it is a good piece of the strategic puzzle," he added.

PPR executives say a strategic deal with L'Oréal comes with a multitude of pluses.

"With this strategic agreement with the world leader in cosmetics, Gucci Group gives YSL Beauté the opportunity to take full advantage of its upside potential," said François-Henri Pinault, chairman and ceo of PPR. "It also enables the Yves Saint Laurent brand, in the field of beauty, to fully align its ambitions with its worldwide reputation. Yves Saint Laurent would thus boost its position as a great luxury brand. With its expertise and knowledge of international markets, L'Oréal would be able to continue and step up the work already achieved to date. L'Oréal would also offer a unique development platform for the Roger & Gallet, Boucheron, Stella McCartney, Oscar de la Renta and Zegna brands."

Robert Polet, Gucci Group's ceo, said, "This agreement would be key for Yves Saint Laurent. The strength and expertise of L'Oréal would put the further development of the brand on a faster track. The collaboration between L'Oréal and Yves Saint Laurent Couture would assure the consistency of Yves Saint Laurent's brand image."

The news of a probable L'Oréal-PPR agreement quashes long-standing market speculation that YSL Beauté would become part of Groupe Clarins. For months, industry rumors swirled that PPR would offer its beauty division to Clarins in return for up to a 30 percent stake in the company, and even a right of first refusal if the company is eventually sold. Clarins' majority shareholders, the Courtin-Clarins family, steadfastly maintained their unwillingness to cede control of Clarins.

However, industry watchers weren't surprised PPR would ink a strategic agreement for YSL Beauté, pointing out that beauty is not core to PPR's business, which has a strong focus on retail and luxury goods. PPR's retail banners include Conforama for furniture; Fnac for books, music and electronics, and the catalogue division Redcats. In luxury goods, PPR's holdings include Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Boucheron and Sergio Rossi. Most recently, PPR acquired a controlling stake in activewear firm Puma.

PPR's holding company Artemis acquired Sanofi Beauté (whose beauty business — today called YSL Beauté — represented 85 percent of its sales and whose Yves Saint Laurent fashion business, minus couture, generated the rest) in March 1999 for $1 billion. Artemis then flipped the business to Gucci Group in November 1999, creating a new luxury goods conglomerate to rival LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. At the time, beauty industry executives and financial analysts alike were convinced Gucci would sell at least a few of the beauty brands to recoup some of the money. But Gucci's then chairman, Domenico De Sole, and then chief financial officer, Robert Singer, said repeatedly they planned to hold on to all the brands.

"The beauty businesses are profitable, and they will remain profitable," De Sole said. Singer said later that Gucci intended to make "significant investments" in the beauty business.

Although it has shown improvements recently, YSL Beauté has been among the underperforming businesses at PPR in an increasingly competitive market for fine fragrances. In the first half of 2007, the beauty division swung into the black, posting recurring operating income of 21 million euros, or $27.9 million at average exchange, versus a loss of 5 million euros, or $6.1 million, in the prior-year period. The company credited the improvement to a leap in manufacturing productivity and a restructuring plan that reduced expenses. YSL Beauté's sales reached 290 million euros, or $386 million, up 5.8 percent, in the half.

The YSL brand's recent major fragrance launches include the women's scent Elle last fall and the men's fragrance L'Homme Yves Saint Laurent in fall 2006.

In recent years, YSL Beauté has been roiled by management changes and restructuring. In 2007, Chantal Roos departed as its president and ceo and Maggie Ciafardini as ceo and managing director of the division's U.S. business. (Those positions were filled by Andrea Barbier and Marc Rey, respectively.) In 2006, YSL Beauté sold its factory in Bernay, France, and trimmed 118 jobs from its Neuilly-sur-Seine, France-based headquarters. That number represented about 10 percent of its French workforce.

The largest part of YSL Beauté's business stems from fragrance, which in 2006 generated 66 percent of its overall revenues. That year, cosmetics (which reportedly clocks double-digit gains) followed, with 28 percent, and skin care, with 6 percent. Also that year, Europe produced 70 percent of YSL Beauté's business; North America, 14 percent, and the rest of the world, 16 percent.

In the first half of 2007, L'Oréal generated sales of 8.51 billion euros, or $11.3 billion at average exchange, a 9.4 percent increase against the same prior-year period. Total operating profits at L'Oréal, including The Body Shop business (consolidated since July 1, 2006), came in at 1.44 billion euros, or $1.92 billion, an 8.1 percent gain. L'Oréal's operating profit as a percentage of sales was 16.9 percent.

L'Oreal Bare Naturale Mineral Makeup

So: I thought it would be fitting if this week ended with my review of a popular and easily found brand of mineral makeup - L'Oreal Bare Natural Gentle Mineral Makeup. It's been on the market for a long time now, and to tell you the truth, I couldn't review it because I had a hard time finding the perfect shade. But now that I have... I have to say that most days I reach for this over my regular foundation. I can get just the right amount of coverage and because it's a powder it looks very natural on top of my moisturizer. They say that mineral makeup is for oily skin, but I think that if you're wearing a moisturizer beforehand anyway, then this will look pretty great on your skin. It is indeed very natural looking, even the darker shades go on without a grey tinge, and there's no shimmer at all.

Also, I don't like the accompanying brush that much, but I have to admit that it's an awesome containing to throw in your purse or suitcase for traveling.

L'Oreal Color Riche Made for Me Naturals - and a reader giveaway!

It's not difficult to see why L'Oreal would want to come out with a whole collection of nude lip colours. The success of the Aishwarya Beige lipstick which I and my readers fawned over many times means that women are looking for a lipstick that gives them just a hint of colour and goes with anything else they wear. Red may have been fall's colour, but everyone needs a nude lipstick.

In any case, L'Oreal now presents a selection of nude lipsticks as part of their Made for Me Naturals collection. The line has a group of lipsticks and each one is for a different hair colour. It makes sense - if you have dark hair, your colouring might need a darker lipstick than someone with blonde hair.

There are many options from which to choose, which means that there's a good chance that you'll find the perfect colour.

And here's a little help from me via the contest that I said I was going to be running: I have 4 L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipsticks and I'll give them away to 2 readers (2 lipsticks each). If you want a chance at winning, just join the Canadian Beauty Facebook group. I'll pick two winners from the members of that group tomorrow!

L'Oreal Telescopic Clean Definition

telescopic

L'Oreal Telescopic Clean Definition mascara says that it will give you no clumps and just defined lashes. It certainly delivers on those counts. This is not a mascara to use if you want to add "oomph" to your look but it works well for everyday wear. Your lashes will look longer but still natural.

L'Oreal Bare Naturale Blush

I've been using the L'Oreal Bare Naturale Blush all last week and I really like it! When I saw this blush in the store, I examined it closely and thought that there was a bit too much shimmer in it. When actually wearing it though, I've realized that the shimmer doesn't show up that much on the skin, and even in the brightest light your cheeks aren't shimmery.

Plus, all the colours are sheer and pretty so it's hard to go wrong with this blush. It's available at drugstores everywhere.

Lip Colour that Stays On

I like L'Oreal Infallible Lipcolour so much that I put it in my purse so I can use it everyday. It's that good. This product was a freebie that I got in my L'Oreal Fashion Week Media Bag. The colour - Amethyst - is slightly darker than my lips which suits me just fine. It doesn't stay on the entire day, but does have the ability to get me through lunch which is what I am looking for. The thing is that I think that this lipcolour is not meant to be used with anything oily - put a regular lipbalm on top and you'll notice that the formula breaks down and wipes off. Therefore, how long this lip colour stays on depends entirely on what you eat. Have a few cups of coffee and chances are that it's going to stay on and look pristine. Eat bacon and eggs, and the grease will cut through the stuff and you'll need to apply a new coat. Keep this in mind when judging how long your Infallible Lipcolour stays on.

I think the packaging is sheer genius. The coloured base and the slick gloss come in one mirrored case, which means that you won't have to go hunting through your purse to find each component. The gloss made my lips feel moisturized and was glossy enough that it made me look like I was wearing a lip gloss.

This item is already in drugstores everywhere - oh, and they have a colour named Henna, a pinky brown neutral.

L'Oreal Fall Colour Collection - Timeless Seduction

I have to say it: L'Oreal's fall makeup collection is one to rival any department store makeup brand's. The colours are beautiful, the products are of high-quality, and it's all at a price that makes it worth your while to refresh your fall makeup bag.

Lets start with a staple item: lipgloss. L'Oreal Colour Juice glosses are slightly sticky but they stay on for a long time. Blushing Berry is my favourite shade and it's great if you're looking for a dark pink lip colour. Touch of Nude is a light coloured gloss that has the perfect amount of pigment - it won't wash your lips out, but it'll match your smoky eye beautifully.
Speaking of Smoky Eye, L'Oreal is introducing these new lovelies.
Scared? Don't be! These crayons are so fun to work with and with them you can do a smoky eye so easily. These are like compacted shadows. I like using them wet. You get great pigmentation, and they stay in place without the help of a primer! My favourite colour is the first one, Bronze Foil. The colour is a dark pewter shade that's shimmery. Since I've gotten it, I've been using it every single day to line my eyes. You can even sharpen the crayons in order to get more precise lines. If I didn't have brown eyes, I'd get the black crayon. It will really help light eye colours pop and can even be used to help darken shadows that are too light.

You could, of course, just use the L'Oreal eyeshadows if you wanted.

I would say that these are pretty much the best quality shadows that one can get at the drugstore. They barely crease and the colours are absolutely beautiful. The palette on the very right isn't one that I'd normally go for, but the colours are so wearable! The yellow shade is actually a golden colour and it works nicely when the darkest green is used as a liner.

Lastly, don't forget about nail colour! The silver and gold are nice departures from the dark colours of the season. Gold is going to be huge during the holiday season, and this gold is sparkly and anything but boring. I love the blacks. There's a Gold Patent and a Silver Patent - both are black nail polishes with gold and silver shimmer respectively. I am loving the gold one - it warms up the black and makes it pretty! The Pro Manicure line also has a high level of shine and stays on for a reasonably long time. I think that gold is going to be the colour of the season, so if you're over the black, that is the one that I would get. You know that these products are going to be in limited numbers so pick up the line before it's gone!

As a little extra, here are my pictures of the line. I sharpened the black crayon and you can see that the loss of product is so minimal that it's worth it to sharpen the crayon if that makes it easier to use. You can also use a damp slanted brush to pick up the colour and use it to line your eyes or a regular brush to apply colour on the whole eyelid.

Canadian Beauty News, September 21, 2007, Estee Lauder event, Aishwarya Beige Lipstick, Contest Winner Announced, and new MAC Collections!

First things first: L'Oreal's Aishwarya's Beige lipstick is in stores again! Every single time I see this item in drugstores, I go back two weeks later and it's completely sold out. Then I hear from a reader or 5 saying that they couldn't find the lipstick.

What can I say? If you want this colour (which is quite possibly the best nude lip colour ever made) go to the drugstore ASAP and get your hands on it. If you miss it this time around, just wait - it does so well that I'm sure it'll come back soon.

Also, if you're a newer reader to this blog, you can read my original rave review about this lipstick, or have a look at the L'Oreal Fashion Week Fall 2007 picture where they used this colour on some of the models.

New MAC Collections

September 27
sees the release of two new MAC collections - one called Matte Squared and the other call Mattene.

The Matte Squared collection features a set of matte eyeshadows that are said to be very highly pigmented and will provide a lovely burst of colour. There's also a set of Liquidlast eyeliners that wear without any fading or smudging. Here's a list of what's included:

Eye Shadow
Post Haste Bright berry pink
Poison Pen Deep mid-tone purple with grey
Newly Minted Rich sea green
Handwritten Rich chocolate brown
Flourishing Rich moss green
Blanc Type Creamy beige
Fig. 1 Eggplant purple
Copperplate Muted mid-tone grey
Prussian Deep sea blue
Clarity Rich Aqua
Brown Script Warm chestnut brown
Signed, Sealed Black maroon
Graphology Dark black grey with a hint of purple
Tete-A-Tint Caramel brown
Typographic Asphalt black

Liquidlast Liner
Inky Navy blue with low-level pearl
Inkspill Deep green with green pearl
Electrolady Electric purple with red pearl
Point Black True black
Coco Bar Deep chocolate brown

There used to be a time when I didn't see the point in matte eyeshadow, but I sure do now. They really do wear longer and allow you to create a more subtle eyshadow design. for example, it would be lovely to use the cream matte eyeshadow accented with some shading with a brown or a purple. The look would be perfect for daytime. Also, matte eyeshadows make much better liners so it's great that MAC has included a black to its collection.

Mattene, on the other hand, is going to be a collection of new matte lipsticks. Unlike the matte lipsticks of yesteryear (and the ones that MAC is so famous for) these will be creamy and soft not drying. They'll still be highly pigmented and will wear wonderfully. A list of colours follows.

Mattene Lipstick
Poise Clean yellow pink (Semi-Matte)
Composure Neutral bronze plum (Semi-Matte)
Flattering Beige pink (Semi-Matte)
Café Matte Rich caramel (Semi-Matte)
Orange Dare Bright yellow orange (Semi-Matte)
Seriously Rich Bright pink red (Semi-Matte)
Immodest Bright magenta (Semi-Matte)
Night Violet Deep purple grape (Semi-Matte)
40’s Pink Neutral mid-tone dirty pink
All Grown Up Deep chocolate brown
Tango Dirty coral
You Say Tomato Tomato red
Classic Dame Blood red
Rapturous Deep red berry
Powersuit Vibrant clean yellow pink
Rougette Wine berry

I have a feeling that I'm going to be gravitating towards the pinks in the collection, but I'll wait to see it before telling you which one my favourite is.

The Aerin Lauder Event

Here are some pictures from the Aerin Lauder event that was this past Tuesday here in Toronto.
I think it's so cool how much like Estee and Aerin resemble each other.
Aerin is also going to add a bath and shower gel to the collection as well as some other goodies. Stay tuned - there are going to be many more surprises at the Estee Lauder counter this fall! Note that in Canada, the only place that you can purchase the Tuberose Gardenia Private Collection is at Holt Renfrew.

Many thanks to Matthew from the EL counter for these pictures.

Contest Winner

The prize for this contest was the best I've ever had, but the contest itself was also a lot harder to win. Wisp of a Girl gave me the most number of products and so she won.

That blush that everyone thought was Annabelle, was actually Bobbi Brown! Wisp was also the only person that identified the Lancome Destiny Cube which is perhaps the best new product this fall. Here's where I talked about it.

Also, there are no MAC lip pencils in there. I just don't use lip pencils.

I do have a lot of MAC products in there right now, but that just seems to be what I'm using these days. I really like the Smoke Signals and Gentle Fume quad and use them on an almost daily basis. The lipsticks get almost no wear at all, while if you want to see what I'm using on my lips all the time, you'd have to look in my purse.

Anyway - Wisp get in touch with me (you didn't leave your email address) and I'll be sending you the package! Congratulations and good job!

Have a lovely weekend, everyone.
