I've been using new John Frieda Weather Works Shampoo and Conditioner. The system claims to protect your hair from the elements and will preserve your style!
I'm not silly enough to walk around in the rain with freshly shampooed hair, but I have to say that I really love this duo. It didn't just give me shiny hair, my hair was seriously glossy when I used it. You really have to use the shampoo and conditioner together to get the best results and the amazing moisturizing formula is great for all hair types. If you wash your hair frequently as I do, you'll love this too.

Get Giselle's Do
I can't talk about celebrities without talking about Giselle.
Giselle Bundchen is the world’s top earning model and I think that it’s partly because of her voluminous blonde locks. Everyone wants her hair style, and I hear that her hair colour is the most requested one at salons (and seriously, if I were blonde, I would go that colour too).
Well, colour aside, recently I made a trip to the Howard Barr studio where my hair was styled to look just like Giselle’s. Howard first blowdried my hair using a big round brush at the same time, and while he did that, he separated it into sections. He later took those section and curled them using a 1.25” curling iron.
The kicker? He used all John Frieda products in my hair from beginning to end. This meant that I could try to recreate the style at home without breaking the bank.
Howard first washed my hair with a John Frieda Straightening shampoo and conditioner. He then used just one pump of serum before using the blowdryer, and after he used a pea-sized amount of Secret Weapon Finishing Creme. Finally, there was a spritz of hair spray right before Howard used a curling iron and right after to set my hair.
I was surprised at how little product was used in my hair, and the result was that my hair was light and bouncy for the rest of the day. Every strand stayed in place and really did look like Giselle’s! It was kind of cool.
I tried doing the same thing myself at home, but alas, I don’t have the same skill with the blow dryer. I also leave out the hair spray because I like my hair to be completely soft, but with just a few John Frieda products, I can really do a great job with my hair.

John Frieda Shine Spray
This product has become quite the staple for me - it's not that I don't have shiny hair. It's just something about flourescent lighting that makes my hair look duller than it really is. So I use this John Frieda Shine Spray. I find it to be pretty lightweight and easy to use. Just a few fine spritzes and I'm ready to go. My hair isn't weighed down or greasy after using it - just really shiny.

I still love the Luminous Color Glaze
I wrote about this at the beginning of the month and am still loving it. So much, in fact, that I'm on to my second bottle.
What I love is that it works like a rinse and keeps your highlights in without a trip to the salon and much much cheaper!
Try it for yourself!

Canadian Beauty News: October 5, 2007 Worth the Hype? Recap
Gosh, the week sure does pass quickly! Last week, it's been Worth the Hype? week here at CanadianBeauty.com.
There are a few hyped products that I never got to such as mineral makeup, bronzer, and top coats, but that'll have to wait for another edition of Worth the Hype? Week. I should say that if you have anything that you're wondering about, email me and I'll try to assess whether it's worth the hype!
When it comes to deciding whether a product is worth the hype or not, it goes without saying that department store products are just nicer. For the increased price, you are getting nice packaging, a big mirror, and they give you a sense of smugness when you flip through a magazine and see yet another "must have" list. I have that, you can think to yourself with satisfaction.
If you are fine without the next "must have" product, it really isn't worth a second look is it? But if you are in the market for something new, anyhow, well then.... snap it up and tell me all about it!
So to recap: a foundation brush (including the one I have by Lancome) is a good thing because you waste less product than if you were using a sponge; hair glaze by John Frieda is also good if you're looking for a product to empower lack luster locks; new Secret deodorant is nice if you want to smell nicer; and Nars blush is good if you really want a Nars blush.
Yet Another MAC Collection...
Don't get bored of the MAC counter just yet. October sees the release of the McQueen collecion at that counter. I like to think of this collection as a kind of "greatest hits" selection. The collection includes some of my favourite products in new colours. There are new Paint Pots and a new Mineralize Skin Finish to give that gilded glow to the skin that was seen on the models during the Fall '07 Alexander McQueen show. Check out the beautiful packaging too - the writing is subtle but glamourous without being at all tacky.
And of course, here's a list of all the products that are going to be a part of the collection.
Lipstick
Masque - Rosy dirty pink
Archetype - Sheer light gold
Lipglass
Nothingless - White gold with yellow pearl
White Magic - Soft baby pink with white pearl
Small Eye shadow
Haunting - Seafoam green
Pagan Yellow - lime green with yellow pearl
Nile - Soft royal blue with white pearl
Paint Pot
Pharaoh - Creamy yellow green
Otherworldly - Mid-tone sea blue
Electro Sky - Royal intense blue
Mineralize Skinfinish
New Vegas - Fleshy golden beige with bronze pearl
Kohl Power
Jealous - Black with green pearl
Black Karat - Black with gold pearl
Feline - Rich black
Eye Brow
Velvetone - Film noir black
Lash
No. 20 - Half lash, natural black
Reader Question...
A reader emailed me and asked what colour lipgloss I would wear with my Aishwarya Beige lipstick. I have to admit that the lipstick is so creamy that I never even considered wearing a gloss on top, but if I did, I would wear a clear one so that the perfect colour wouldn't be altered in the least.
And that's all for this week - I hope everyone has a swell weekend. Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian Readers!

Worth the Hype? John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze
If you're in a rush when you read this, let me skip to the bottom line: John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze is worth the hype.
But there are some things that you should know, so read on.
This product is one that you use in the shower after washing and conditioning your hair. It coats your hair in a plastic-like substance so that once it's dry, it's shiny!
The nature of the glaze is such that you will notice that your hair is much less frizzy and dries more quickly.
I should tell you that the product has a certain amount of dye in it, so if you use the dark brown, you'll have to be more careful so that you don't get any on your neck or face. You'll also need to wash your hands thoroughly after using it to prevent any staining.
The Color Glaze also comes in a clear version so if you really want to use it, that might be the best way to go.
All in all? Worth the hype.
