The Ritual Spa Experience

If you live in Toronto and need a good place in Toronto where you can tan, get your nails done, and just a great relaxing experience, head over to Ritual on King St. west. I went this week and it was the best experience I've had in a long time. I was really stressed and was running around a lot. I just needed to forget about all that and what I needed was a relaxing casual atmosphere where I could just be myself. What I really needed was Ritual!

I headed over and had my nails done at Ritual and had my nails done, where Iryna listened to me and did my nails beautifully. She was quick and professional and before I knew it, I had a beautiful French manicure done and ready to go.

After that I headed next door to Ritual 2 and got a Dermalogica facial. After the first time I reported on the greatness of Dermalogica many of you contacted me and asked to recommend a place that you could go to for your own Dermalogica facial. I'm happy to say that Ritual 2 is awesome and I would recommend them! Ritual 2 even has a Dermalogica tester bar where you can go at any time and try out all of the products and see how much you like them. After my facial, I was set up with a sample of a couple of Dermalogica products so that I could try them at home and see how great they are. They even have Dermalogica's new Age Smart line which is excellent.

Head over to Ritual or Ritual 2 and take advantage of their summer specials - you won't be disappointed.

Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster

Oh my goodness, even more than other Dermalogica products, I love the Skin Hydrating Booster. It is by far my fav Dermalogica product.

This is basically a serum and the great thing about it is that it actually moisturizes but it's totally weightless! You can layer it with other products you're using, and I use it before I put sunscreen on and it's perfect because you can moisturize without putting too much stuff on your face.

If you happen into a place selling Dermalogica, definitely check out the Skin Hydrating Booster.

I Heart Dermalogica

It's got to be said - I'm a huge fan of Dermalogica. They have a very straight-forward approach to skin care and can not only help you with any skin problems that you might be having, but can also help your skin look its best at all times. There's treatment paired with products that you use at home to maintain your Dermalogica glow.

I've had a Dermalogica facial and it was a great experience. I went through their face mapping procedure and you know what? It is right on the money. The skin care expert doing the face mapping, took one look at my reddened cheeks and asked me if I have a problem with congestion, and I did! She also saw that I had dry but oily skin and then went on to suggest products for my condition.

The facial that I went on to receive was second to none. It was so relaxing that I pretty much dozed off for part of it, and when I was done, I had clearer skin than I had seen in a long time.

I really cannot say enough good things about my Dermalogica experience. If you want to find a centre near you, Dermalogica has a handy locating system on their home page. I encourage you to find one near you and experience Dermalogica for yourself. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Dermalogica Pre-Cleanse

Dermalogica recommends that you begin your skin care routine with their Pre-Cleanse. It's a rosemary-scented oil that you massage into your skin. It emulsifies the impurities on your skin and when you add water to it, the oil washes off. The product is similar to La Mer's The Cleansing Fluid.

The Pre-Cleanse really does work and makes your skin super-clean without drying it at all. Dermalogica recommends that you follow up with another Dermalogica cleanser, and I did find that when I followed their routine, I had very clean skin without it being dry at all. Even oily skins can use this product, and they'll find that it cleans your skin without completely stripping it of moisture.

Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel

Follow up using Dermalogica's Pre-Cleanse with Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel. What's so special about it? It foams with soap, cleans without drying. In the mornings, I use this cleanser without the pre-cleanse and love it. It's refreshing and works!

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

I conclude my Dermalogica reviews today with the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant.

It's a rice-based powder that you mix with water to form a paste which is then rubbed all over the face. It's a truly gentle exfoliater that's great for everyday use.
Please use this exactly as the instructions say to. Not following the instructions could result in a scrub that is entirely too harsh for anyone.

If you find yourself allergic to some scrubs or routinely find them to be too greasy, then definitely check this scrub out. It's gentle but it works and used over time will leave your skin much smoother and clearer.

Needless to say, I've found all Dermalogica products to be truly excellent. They do what they claim to, and never over-dry or over-moisturize your skin. They often include plant-based ingredients and always smell amazing. Find a Dermalogica retailer near you, experience a face-mapping session, and pick up their recommendations the next time you have a chance.
