Mineral Makeup Poll Results

I was actually shocked at the results of this poll: 54% of those of you who voted use mineral makeup, and 18% of you will try it. 9% of you want to see more reviews, which means that at least 81% of everyone who voted will be interested in reading about the newest mineral makeup products - and that's where I come in. Luckily, I've got several new reviews in the works, and already this year, I've been trying a lot more mineral makeup.

The one brand that I don't use is Bare Escentuals, so I won't be talking about that one. They just don't have a foundation colour that looks perfect on my skin and I'm afraid they don't do warm tones perfectly. It's disappointing because I've heard great things about their line.

In any case, you can also read my other reviews of mineral makeup products.

Know of a brand you think I should try, let me know in the comments.

Oh, and if you're sticking to regular foundation, I want to know why.

Ah, I've been a reader for some time now and just wanted to note that it's important for me to be able to read the entire post in my feed reader. I understand that you want us to visit the blog itself for advertising purposes, but I wouldn't mind seeing a signature ad than having to click to read the entire article.

I am more likely to skip over the article entirely as I have subscribed to so many feeds. It has become more of a nuisance to read my favourite blogs because I end up having too many bookmarks that it takes hours out of my day just to get through it.

So if possible, please continue to make your full articles available in feeds, photos included.

Thank you kindkly,
Donna

It's not for advertising that I don't publish my blog's full feed. It's because it makes it way too easy for people to take my content and republish it without permission or acknowledgment. I put a lot of work into my writing and I don't want people to just steal it and republish it. This is a problem that's happening more and more, and right now, publishing a full feed is just not an option. Sorry!

right now i am wearing laura mercier mineral powder in tender rose. the sales lady was very insistent that i buy the primer as well (i thought it was the famous liquid one of hers, which i does not do much for me) but i passed. it turns out, the primer for the mineral powders is also a powder (silly me) which i dont have...and would love to try out to see if it makes a differance.

the color range for bare escentuals does not work well for me either. next up, i will try the mineral bronzer of laura mercier as well!

I really love Alima mineral make-up. High quality products and beautiful webdesign. Good brushes too, apparently.

i'm really glad you mentioned you wouldn't be reviewing bare escentuals (and why) - i was keeping an eye out for a review because i was extremely curious to know what you thought and also if you had any tips :) i use bare escentuals and absolutely love their make-up. i have extremely sensitive skin that broke out terribly when i used mac products (i was very upset because i LOVE mac); but when i switched to bare escentuals my skin changed dramatically. it looks and feels so much healthier!

Why I an sticking to regular foundation:

B/c if it ain't broke don't fix it! :) I have dark skin and it took me yearsss to find a foundation that matches my skin w/out making me ashy and I've finally found the perfect blend of MAC concealer, foundation and powder shades. Not gonna screw with what works. Plus I'm always late to jump on the bandwagon!

Lisa, I totally hear you with the colour matching system. When I find a foundation that matches perfectly, I jump for joy and consider buying backups. I actually did this for the CoverGirl Trublend when it first came out. It was just what I was looking for at the time, though I have to admit that MAC suits me well too, even if their coverage is more than I need on most days. Oh, and same with Bobbi Brown foundations. But I am also finding that more and more companies are making foundations that suit a variety of skintones - L'Oreal and Lancome being some of them. I think the more colours they offer, the more of a chance they have of hitting a right note.
