Last week poll results are in - most of you spend between $21 to $50 a month on beauty products which is what I thought. I'm guessing that most people invest in a new lipgloss or lipstick every now and then, and splurge for a foundation or palette or fragrance at other times. Throw in the odd mascara purchase (every 3 to 6 months?) and the purchase of hair or shower products when needed rounds out the spending. Am I right? Maybe that's just me...

Firstly, thank you for the link! I feel so honored!
Secondly, as to your question, I think you're right. The average woman spends enough on beauty products for basic upkeep.
As for me, and I'm sure you too, I've always been more experimental and willing to take a chance on new colors, products, techniques, etc. (Sage and Goldenrod? Huh, well let's see how that works on me...) I just wish I had more money to do as much of it as I want. I was in that $51-$100 range. GWPs help in that respect.
Ooooh, I'm a sucker for GWP's... If I'm going to get a product anyways, I might as well get something extra with it right?
The worst is when people re-gift those... ;)
Exactly! More than once I went over my "rigid" budget and bought more than I intended just to get GWPs because, really, how can you pass it up? You know, one of those times when you SWEAR you will only spend $45 or JUST get that tube of mascara then you find out, "If you spend $20 more, here's all this cool free stuff we'll give you!" Free bag, mascara, lipstick, etc.? Just try and stop me! One of the best GWPs I got recently was from Lancome in early June; it came with a nice canvas purse with leather straps and a pair of flip flops I now use as shower shoes at my gym.
I haven't, so far, received a GWP regift, though mi abuela might give me one she got from whatever counter. Some products she just doesn't use or doesn't need. So yay me!
